ICT Operations Manager

About Us: Located in the east of Birmingham, St. Saviour’s C of E school is a two-form entry primary school. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and committed ICT Operations Manager. Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled ICT Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. As an ICT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the school's information and communication technology infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on maintaining network systems, managing software applications, and ensuring the efficient operation of ICT resources across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • manage and maintain the school's ICT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and software applications
  • provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff and students
  • oversee the installation and configuration of hardware and software systems
  • implement and enforce ICT policies and procedures to ensure data security and compliance
  • collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement ICT strategies to support teaching and learning objectives
  • keep abreast of emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • management of the ICT Budgets/Subscriptions, when required raise order against these budgets
  • liaise with representatives of equipment and software suppliers and ensure that any faults that occur are rectified as soon as possible
  • to ensure that all personal Computers and Networked systems comply with the School s Computer Security Policy, Data Protection Law, Copyright Law, Software Licencing Regulations
  • to be aware of the school s Health and Safety Policy and develop and maintain such a policy relevant to the use of ICT equipment

Requirements:

  • varied experience of technical trouble-shooting
  • experience working at a senior level
  • a good, working knowledge of current computer operating systems and other relevant systems Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
  • proven experience in managing ICT operations in an educational or similar environment
  • strong technical knowledge of network systems, hardware, and software applications
  • excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively
  • degree-level qualification in an ICT or business discipline (or equivalent, desirable not essential) NVQ level 4 for IT professionals, HNC computing or information technology, BCS part 1 qualification supervisory or management qualification desirable
  • familiarity with data protection regulations and ICT security best practices
  • effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels
  • relevant qualifications in ICT or a related field would be advantageous
