Job Information

Located in the east of Birmingham, St Saviour’s C of E school is a two-form entry primary school. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and committed Receptionist.

St. Saviour’s aims to provide ‘Opportunities without Limits’ for all our children within a nurturing, stimulating and varied curriculum. There is an effective partnership, and very supportive links with, the church and our multi-cultural community, which enriches the experience of our children and their families; there is a shared commitment to the teaching of Christianity whilst supporting a multi-faith approach to the curriculum.

We are seeking a skilled Receptionist to join our office team, where you will be the first point of call at the School Office, with the responsibility of meeting and greeting of our pupils, parents/guardians, outside agencies and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • answering the telephone in a polite and professional manner
  • screening or redirecting calls, answering queries or taking and relaying messages
  • dealing with queries from the public, parents and staff politely and efficiently
  • to be the first point of contact for all visitors to the school
  • greeting all visitors, ensuring safeguarding measures and the school visitors’ policy is adhered to
  • providing access to visitors through the electronic gates
  • have good general admin and IT skills
  • undertake general administrative tasks
  • prepare documents and letters as requested
  • data collection for pupils
  • receive, sort and redistribute incoming mail and deliveries
  • responsibility for incoming and outgoing mail; ensuring postage is completed within a timely and prompt manner
  • compile the school’s termly newsletter
  • assist with emergency fire and safeguarding evacuation procedures as required
  • work as part of the larger support team
