Job Information

We are looking for a confident, capable and ambitious teacher to take on the role of Assistant Headteacher, starting in April 2025.

Our school is on a significant school improvement journey; we know getting the best educational experience for our children starts in the classrooms. We are tightly focused on the quality of teaching across school and in turn, the quality and depth of children's learning. Our latest Ofsted inspection report (December 2023) gives candidates some indication of what we do well and what we need to improve on, however, our ambition for the school and our children reaches far beyond Ofsted gradings!

We are a three-form entry school set across three buildings. The school was built by George Cadbury, and we continue to uphold his aim of creating an education of the highest quality. We are incredibly proud of the school's heritage and our place in the local community.

Our Senior Leaders (including our strong Board of Governors) would welcome enquiries from interested candidates who are keen to join a driven, ambitious and dedicated team who have extremely high expectations for our staff, pupils and families.

The role of AHT at our school is:

  • the member of SLT with responsibility for teaching and learning across Key Stage 1
  • one of our Deputy DSLs
  • a non-teaching position, however, we would expect some flexibility and an enthusiasm for some teaching, should this be required

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate:

  • outstanding classroom practice
  • high expectations of learning and behaviour
  • excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • effective collaboration and teamwork
  • a proven track record in driving standards and securing improvements for children
  • a good understanding and a strong belief in the importance of nurture and pastoral provision in schools
  • the ability to inspire and motivate large teams
  • being 'bothered' about all aspects of the role, our school and our children
  • a proactive approach to school life and improvement
  • strong initiative in problem-solving and development
  • high-quality attention to detail
  • appreciation of the effort and dedication required to achieve continuous school improvement

We offer:

  • a driven and ambitious senior leadership team (including Governors)
  • a school that has a strong emphasis on building strong, open and positive relationships with children and their families
  • a school community that are united in their desire for the school to provide the best educational experience possible, for our children

We expect interested candidates to visit the school for 'walkarounds' with the HT and SLT.
