Job Information

Waverley Education Foundation (WEF) is a Multi Academy Trust, which operates both Waverley School and Waverley Studio College. WEF has approximately 2000 pupils on roll across the trust. It develops, brokers and delivers a range of services which support learning, leadership, management and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Waverley School is an all-through school for pupils aged 4-19. It has a Primary and Secondary Resource Base for pupils with cognition and learning difficulties. Waverley Studio College is a specialist academy catering for 14 – 19 year old students which offers both academic and vocational qualifications. Both Waverley School and Waverley Studio College were graded ‘Good’ in their recent Section 5 Ofsted Inspections in September 2021 and September 2022 respectively.
The primary phase of Waverley School has approximately 600 pupils. We have state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training and a strong staff team that are committed to the learning and development of all our students.

The Trustees are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic teacher with integrity, compassion and vision for the post of SENDCo of the Primary Phase of Waverley School. The successful candidate will be a part of the Primary Leadership Team and have the opportunity to make a big impact on improving standards through your fresh ideas, motivational skills and relentless focus on improvement. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be class based for part of the week.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • an outstanding and effective classroom practitioner with a proven track record of raising standards
  • an excellent communicator with interpersonal skills and can think strategically
  • knowledgeable about SEND in all its aspects
  • experienced in implementing strategies to improve attitudes to learning and outcomes
  • a strategic thinker who will inspire staff and students to reach their full potential
  • a warm person with high levels of emotional intelligence and a sense of humour.

The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post.
