Our outstanding innovative and welcoming primary special school caters for children between the ages of 2 to 11 years old who are D/deaf and require a sign bilingual education. We are currently funded for 65 places. The school has a national reputation as a centre of excellence in Deaf Education.

We seek to appoint an excellent Teacher of the D/deaf committed to providing high quality learning opportunities, so that D/deaf children can reach their potential within our bilingual setting. Longwill is a small, friendly special school which offers an excellent education to D/deaf pupils from throughout the West Midlands and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a practitioner who:

  • is a qualified Teacher
  • is either a QToD or has the commitment to train to be a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf
  • has high expectations for pupils and is an excellent communicator
  • thinks creatively to create diverse and unique learning experiences
  • is self- motivated and a lifelong learner
  • is able to lead a classroom team effectively
  • has the ability to communicate in British Sign Language Minimum Level 1 and is committed to develop further their signing skills to at least Level 2, or beyond, on appointment
