Job Information

Victoria School is an all-through school for children and young people aged
2-19 years with profound and multiple learning difficulties and associated medical needs.

The successful candidate will be assisting with hydro pool swimming sessions. The ideal candidate for this position will:

  • •work as part of a team assisting in the teaching of swimming of all pupils with a physical disabilities and/or medical conditions as part of the school’s programme.
  • liaise with professional staff regarding the needs of individual children.
  • monitor the pupils’ progress in liaison with the swimming teacher.
  • communicate with the pupils’ parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme in liaison with the swimming teacher.
  • assist in the supervision of pupils in the hydro pool and the surrounding areas, ensuring their safety and discipline.
  • attend to the physical and personal hygiene needs including: Dressing and undressing and Moving and handling pupils.
  • assist with supporting the physio needs of pupils.

This role will ideally suit people who wish to work in a vibrant SEND environment.
