We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic person to join our library team to provide an effective library and information service to support teaching and learning across the school. Applicants should have a passion for reading and the ability to engender this enthusiasm in our students.
Applicants should have a friendly and approachable manner, excellent communication and IT skills as well as a genuine enthusiasm to work with young people.
In addition to the core library duties, you will be expected to:- undertake the role of an academic coach/mentor in the 6th form (this will involve meeting individuals and groups of students to improve their independent study skills, time management, organisation and in doing so, supporting them to raise their attainment)
- work in collaboration with teaching staff and 6th form pastoral leaders to monitor the quality and quantity of work completed in the 6th form library
- take a proactive approach in promoting reading for pleasure and independent learning
- experience of working in a library and/or with young people is preferable though not essential
