Allens Croft Primary School is a diverse, fully inclusive two-form entry school, with three resource base classes, set in extensive grounds in the Kings Heath area of Birmingham. We are looking to appoint committed, enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable and caring general assistants. The successful candidates will need to have experience of basic food preparation and service of food, working in a busy kitchen environment, good organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively, being a team player, to start as soon as possible.
The job purpose is to assist with the day-to-day operations of the school kitchen which includes assisting with the preparation, cooking and serving of food under the direction of the catering manager and supervisor. This will also include duties of cleaning the kitchen and dining room spaces before, during and after service.
The role will be on a 1-year fixed term contract, term time only, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working hours to be confirmed.
We’re looking for people that can:- assist with the preparation of meals for pupils
- serve meals to our pupils and staff
- assist with keeping the kitchen and dining hall clean & tidy
- complete general kitchen duties including washing up and assisting with stock deliveries
- understand and be aware of the pupil’s needs and dietary preference
- understand and be aware of hygiene and health & safety requirements
