Job Information

The Governors wish to appoint a full time Administrative Assistant.

We are a two-form entry Catholic Primary School. We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the smooth running of our busy school office and assist with the day to day duties of school life. At St Francis, we are proud of our Catholic ethos, and our warm and welcoming approach. We have recently been judged as a Good school by Ofsted and in our Catholic Schools Inspection.

The role will be to support and work closely with the Office Manager. In this role you would be expected to support admin functions within the school office.

The role is in main office and will involve general office duties.

You will also be required to: 

  • daily monitor pupil’s attendance, compiling accurate information when required for the senior leadership team
  • follow our attendance procedures, including making daily phone calls, and entering required data
  • lead on ‘The Fast-Track to Attendance strategy’ (knowledge of this would be an advantage)
  • work with suppliers to get quotes for school
  • place orders on the system as required by school staff and finance/SLT
  • answer the telephone and deal with queries, as required in a school setting
  • deal with in-person queries, queries via email/telephone
  • meet and greet visitors to school
  • provide accurate and consistent record keeping
  • use school’s IT systems to produce letters, emails, and reports

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016). Therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
