Have you got experience of working with pupils and/ or young people with complex SEND needs.

We wish to appoint a SEN teacher who:

  • is an outstanding teacher with a resilient character
  • deliver learning in exciting and creative ways

  • have an unrelenting commitment to equality and the belief that all will succeed; and recognise the importance of providing a safe and supportive learning environment through pastoral care
  • oversee the Saplings team to ensure the day to day running of the classroom and provision supports the individual children’s needs
  • have previous experience and skills of working with children with complex SEND needs
  • be flexible in their ability to use their skills to meet the needs of the range of pupils we have across the school
  • have a good knowledge of Autism and a willingness to learn more
  • be an enthusiastic, hardworking professional who can motivate and inspire children
  • be punctual, reliable and have a real sense of perspective
  • liaise with parent with children with SEND
  • liaise with school SENCO and external professionals to ensure the right provision is in place
  • have high expectations of themselves and others and be committed to raising standards in teaching and learning
  • demonstrate drive, ambition and openness to learning and personal development
  • be an excellent team player and role model and be able to work collaboratively with the SEND team
  • manage and monitor the implementation Individual Plans (IP’s), EHCP’s and SSPPs within the Saplings class
  • you will be part of the SEND class team and the need to be able to work well day in day out with other adults in a complex environment is essential
  • be flexible to the needs of the school with an “I can do” attitude and willingness to work within the SEND class and support all pupils in the SEND classroom
  • have a commitment to safeguarding our students
  • have good communication skills in order to be able to effectively communicate with pupils, parents and families
