An exciting new opportunity has arisen within our Federation for an enthusiastic and inspirational SENCO who is committed to inclusion and has the desire to maintain the highest standards of provision for children with SEND.
The children, staff and Governing Board are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, inspirational, and enthusiastic SENCO with a passion for Early Years education to join our dedicated team of staff.
We are a Federation of two local authority Nursery Schools with children aged 2 to 4 years. This role will be located at Rubery Nursery School; however, the role will also involve working at West Heath Nursery School for approximately half of each week, on a flexible basis.
We are looking for a SENCO who:
• is a fully qualified teacher with experience in the role of SENCO/ holds the National Award for SENCO
• has wide experience of working with children with a range of special educational needs
• has excellent understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
• is committed to SEND inclusive practice
• is willing to take responsibility for SEND provision across the two schools
• has the ability to effectively lead and manage the SEND support team
• is committed to working closely with parents to ensure they are involved and informed of their child’s progress
• can demonstrate excellent pedagogical knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework, Development Matters and Birth to Five Matters
• demonstrates highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
• is self-motivated, hard-working and has high expectations for all
• is dynamic in their ability to nurture, inspire and challenge all children
• will celebrate the uniqueness of every child
