A one hour bitesize promoting disability inclusion and equity within a school and education environment.

This session will help you to understand the requirements of the Equality Act in regard to disability and will assist you to embed disability inclusion and equity into the classroom and in the workplace

Outcomes

By the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • define disability
  • explain the Disability Confident Scheme – and what we need to do different in the disability space
  • think about disability differently
  • more familiar with the social (equity) model of disability & apply it at work and in the classroom.
  • apply relevant policies and provide appropriate advice to applicants, colleagues and managers
  • recognise the barriers that disabled people experience
  • make sense of disability discrimination & the law

Anyone with line management responsibility in schools.
