Unison move to ballot, GMB and Unite consulting with members.
Unison have announced they are balloting for industrial action, however this will not take place not until mid to late May, to allow for appropriate processes to take place. The ballot will be disaggregated so there may be different outcomes for each local authority or school. If the ballot is successful, strike action is unlikely to commence until September 2023.
GMB and Unite are consulting with their members, on the basis of recommending rejection of the offer. The consultation will run for six weeks from the end of this month. If the recommendation is supported there may then be a decision to ballot for industrial action.
