GMB's and Unite's consultative ballots on the National Employers' full and final pay offer will close today (Fri 28 April) and Mon 1 May respectively.
Both unions advise they will announce the result of their ballots next week.
UNISON's ballot is starting 23 May and closing on 4 July. UNISON will ballot on a disaggregated basis, meaning strike action could be taken at individual schools where there is an over 50 per cent turn-out and members vote in favour of strike action and. Unison is required to advise employers on an individual basis of the votes for and against the National Employers’ full and final pay offer, and the turn-out figure.
If UNISON meet the threshold for lawful industrial strike action, due to its timetable, strike action may not start in Schools until September.
